Leave Your Corner Better Than You Found It
Jannik Sinner’s New Foundation Is Serving Up Real Opportunities for the Next Generation
I grew up playing tennis - loved it early on, but my genes clearly had other plans. Pro-level dreams weren’t really in the cards. Still, tennis stuck with me.
I play any chance I get, it’s my workout, my way to clear my head, and something I genuinely enjoy doing. It’s therapy without the talking.
And when it comes to tennis, one player always stands out to me: Jannik Sinner.
He’s the definition of discipline and humility. He shows up, puts in the work, and lets the results speak for themselves, without needing to make it about anything else. That kind of focus is rare. Especially now.
Today, Sinner launched something even bigger than a title or a trophy: the Jannik Sinner Foundation. It’s built around a simple but powerful truth:
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t.
His foundation is making real impact:
Scholarships and tutoring so kids can succeed both on the court and in the classroom.
Community courts and after-school programs to give more kids real places to play and learn.
Mentorship pipelines to connect young athletes with people who can guide them - whether they stick with sports or find a different path.
The team behind him is serious too:
Alex Vittur (his day-one manager)
Stefano Domenicali (Formula 1 CEO)
Luca Maestri (former Apple CFO)
Christina Tauber (running operations behind the scenes)
Why It Matters
Sports teach you a lot more than how to win a game. They teach you how to stay calm under pressure. How to deal with failure. How to keep going when no one’s cheering for you yet. How to respect yourself, and others, no matter where you stand on the scoreboard.
They also give kids a place to belong - a community, a structure, a reason to believe in themselves when life outside the court or field might not be so easy.
But the truth is, not every kid gets that chance. Sometimes it’s about money. Sometimes it’s geography. Sometimes it’s just not having anyone who believes in them.
That’s the gap the Jannik Sinner Foundation is trying to close. It’s not about handouts, it’s about creating access. Building real systems that give more kids the chance to chase their potential.
And I hope this inspires more people to follow his lead. There are so many athletes, actors, entrepreneurs, and creators with massive platforms and resources.
It would be incredible to see more of them using that power to build foundations, create programs, and open doors - not just in tennis, but in every field, every passion.
Because opportunity shouldn’t be reserved for the lucky few. It should be something we build into the world around us - intentionally.
If you’ve been given a platform, no matter how big or small, you have a chance to make a difference. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sponsor a kid’s cleats.
Donate to a local camp.
Volunteer a few weekends a year.
Actually listen to a young person talk about their goals, and take them seriously.
It’s not about saving the world overnight. It’s about leaving your corner of it better than you found it. That’s where real change starts.
